Concord Town Board Meeting - Report August 13, 2007

CONCORD TOWN BOARD MEETING, AUGUST 13. 2007 PAT BRANDT (262)593-8910

Attorney Thomas Levi has been in contact with the Plan Committee of the

Town of Concord for further discussion on the Legislation of Impact Fees.

Detailed reports and studies regarding the town's highways and maintenance

and repairs in the past five years was taken into consideration, along with

the approximately 51 miles of town roads. There has been moderate growth in

the town. Future growth and the present repair/maintenance of the roads was

discussed. The Impact Fees for the town should be based on town roads and not

the parks. Attorney Levi will continue with preparation of guidelines to assist

in the development of a Public Facility Needs Assessment prior to the adoption

of the amended Impact Fees Ordinance.

Erick Frommgen requested a sign permit for the Concord Inn. The vacated sign

is located at W891 Concord Center Drive. Frommgen should check with the County

for any restrictions or regulations for lettering size, ect.

Cindy Arbiture, representative of the Concord Historical Society, presented the

board with a $200 check. The money should be used for the restoration of headstones

particularly a Civil war Veteran at the Webster Holcomb Cemetery located off of

Hwy. B.

Highway employees will not receive a raise in wages, after the board went into

closed session; Rosa Zastrow has been hired to fill the custodial job of the

Community Center. The board approved fireworks at the Concord House on September 29th

for a wedding; a picnic license was granted to St. Mary's Catholic Church of

Sullivan for October 14; SVRS election memorandum of understanding between the

county and town of Concord was approved; obtaining a second dumpster for the

town shop was approved; brushing will begin on Island View Road.

Dennis Stair researched County snowplowing versus Town of Concord snowplowing.

More information will follow at the September meeting.

Sheriff Paul Milbrath addressed the residents of break-ins, car thefts, valuable

items removed/stolen from vehicles, speeding and loud motorcycles.

Joe Thamke was commended for his Memorial Veteran's program he assembled for

the Concord Town Picnic, along with Bill Ingersoll and his picnic crew for

the planning and hard work for another successful year.
